Shahram Saadat
Info ProjectsShahram Saadat’s practice is driven by a sustained interest in human idiosyncrasies and the quiet tensions embedded in everyday life.
Drawing on the erratic spontaneity of documentary photography, he records moments in time that are sometimes observed and often orchestrated, blurring the boundary between the candid and the staged.
Whatever the subject matter, his images retain a sense of unpredictability, allowing gestures, expressions and subtle interactions to carry narrative weight. Shahram’s work explores themes of identity, displacement and the performative nature of social behaviour, inviting viewers to question what is real, rehearsed or unconsciously revealed within the photographic frame.
Shahram contributes to magazines including Dazed, The Travel Almanac and The Face, and founded the publishing platform Duende. He is a prolific creator of limited edition publications which can be viewed at @studiosaadat
